WHAT IS C.H.F.A.?
C.H.F.A. (Camp Hoblitzelle Fine Arts Conservatory) is a unique fine arts camp that immerses students in the exciting worlds of Filmmaking, Acting for the Camera, and Musical Theatre. In this 7-day intensive program, teens and young adults have the chance to explore their craft behind the scenes, in front of the camera, or on stage. At C.H.F.A., you’ll connect with industry professionals who are passionate about investing in your growth. You’ll build lasting relationships, enhance your craft, and gain confidence, all while developing your talents for the glory of God.

FILMMAKING MAJOR
Under the leadership of Nathan D. Myers, students focusing on filmmaking will gain hands-on experience in every stage of production. From working behind the camera and rolling sound to being part of the film crew, participants will actively contribute to creating films of various types. This immersive program emphasizes script to screen nuts & bolts including Screenwriting, Direction & Administration, Cinematography, Sound Recording, Editing, and Art direction, providing a dynamic and interactive learning environment.
ACTING FOR THE CAMERA Major
Under the guidance of Kirk B.R. Woller, D’Lytha Myers, & Nathan D. Myers, students will strengthen their on-camera acting skills in a supportive and professional environment. They will work on camera awareness, improving audition techniques, and delivering honest, compelling performances. Through hands-on exercises and scene work, students will build confidence, refine their craft, and continue growing as film and television actors. Acting for the Camera majors will audition for and participate in films produced by the film majors.
Musical Theatre Major
Under the direction of B.J. Forman, students will dive into the world of live theatrical performance and musical theatre numbers, honing their skills as triple-threat performers. They'll work on scenes, monologues, and choreography, with the unique opportunity to learn from Broadway veterans Bob Richard and Diane Laurenson. Whether aiming for a principal role or becoming a vital part of the ensemble, students are encouraged to audition and showcase their talents. By the end of the week, they'll not only have grown as performers—they’ll radiate confidence and stage presence, ready to shine in an electrifying final showcase. Join us for a spectacular double feature celebrating both theatre and film!
Watch "Bring on Tomorrow," an original musical starring our Musical Theatre Majors, followed by a Student Film Showcase featuring short films created by our Filmmaking Majors. These productions highlight the incredible talent of all of our campers, bringing stories to life both on stage and behind the camera. Friends and family are invited to walk the red carpet on Saturday, August 9th, and experience an unforgettable celebration of live performance and cinematic storytelling!
